and
and
don’t mix well?
Gee, I’ve always known that but just felt the need to remind myself.
Yesterday, the girls played outside in our backyard with two girls who live next door. These girls have
Anyhow, the four of them together got the brilliant idea to put sand on the upper part of our playset, throw it at each other, and generally wallow in the joy of creating a mess.
Bliss.
Until this morning. Abby put her shoes on for school and discovered they were quite sandy. Dave told her to stomp her feet to get the sand off so he could sweep it up.
That’s it. The only request was for her to stomp her feet.
Do you know the child refused? Any other time, she would greatly relish the idea of stomping around the house.
But no. Since she was told to do it, she refused.
So, me being the controlling mother that I am, picked her up, put her back down, picked her up, put her back down……until she was sand free. Yes, I made the child stomp her feet.
That was the start to my day.
All at 6:30 this morning.
Yeah me.

Wish for you a better start to tomorrow.
Hope the rest of your day was better!
This makes me smile. We had a little girl once who was a little strong-willed. Her daddy used to have to hold her hand and take her around the room to make her pick up her toys. He'd physically have to put her hand around the toy and make her pick it up. Oh she was a feisty one.
Thinking of you having to physically make yours stomp her feet makes me smile. I'm sure I got a bigger smile out of it than you did though. :)
Yes, who lets their child play with the neighbors and doesn't check on them? Crazy.
ok I can't stop laughing now!! I sure hope the day got better.
Sound EXACTLY like something I would do!
BIG Hugs

I hope the day got better!!
Kids are too funny...my boys will happily do something until I request that they do it and they'll promptly stop.
Why, oh why, oh why?
No, I don't understand parents who just let their kids wander...sheesh. And, don't you love it when your kid draws that line in the sand (heh heh) and REFUSES to do something? Joy of joys...
ROFL!!!!!!!! That is totally something I would do. When my oldest would stomp her feet because she was mad...I would set the timer and make her stomp her feet until the timer went off. I believe I only had to do it once. LOL I was eyeing a sand box the other day. Thanks for the reminder of why we do NOT need a sand box! :)
Blessings,
Robin
Hope the day was better...
