Tales from the South

Family is gone
Girls are in bed
An update of sorts
Off the top of my head

My parents arrived
At the end of Friday
So much excitement
More folks to play!

Daddy came from the Army
And yummy food was had
Dinner was simple
Pizza and salad

Morning dawned early
As it’s known to do
Off to the airport I went
To pick up the next two

Another Grandma arrived
To spend part of the day
Had a long layover
Before heading on her way

Good food was shared
By all in the house
And then back to the airport
As quick as a mouse

A few hours later
The house grows quite loud
As good friends arrive
To add to the crowd

Dinner is shared
Tacos, fajitas, and rice
Lots of good jokes
Although some not so nice!

Shopping today
With little ones at home
Grandpa’s in charge
So we’re free to roam

Steak on the grill
Was the treat of the day
A wonderful dinner
I truly must say

Seeing family is fun
And such a treat
We don't live close by
So it's always neat!

Back to school
In the morning at seven
Gee, why couldn’t it start
Closer to eleven?

I love stories from the deep south!

I think you are a creative writer and maybe you can quit the day job one day and start writing poetry, short stories, or whatever you like. :-)

I love having lots of family around! Of course, I kind of created that for myself having 6 kids! I don't think I ever heard that there was a special occasion for everyone to come in for. Was there?

Oh, and I think school should be from 11:00 to 1:00.

I wish I could rhyme!

Anyway, it sounds like a nice weekend. Was everyone in town for a special reason?

No, no special reason. My parents were heading south to visit my 93 year old grandmother in SC. They decided to keep driving, come see us, and go play golf in Alabama before heading home to VA. So they leave today for Gulf Shores for a few days. :-)

Oh my gosh, what a crazy weekend. I'm tired just reading your blog, especially after you posted your daily schedule last week! It sounds like a fun weekend. Your parents and mother in law must have had a blast! Have a great week.
