An Interactive Post...

I started thinking this week of everything moms go through and do for their kids. I came up with a few examples that apply to me....but probably lots of you too!

You know you are a mom when you:

-can finish someone else’s half eaten food (unless it's slimy)

-are very excited when someone chooses to buy lunch at school instead of bringing a lunch box! Whoo hoo!

-cry when your child gets in trouble at school, church, etc.

-cry when your child is spotlighted for good things!

-untie wet shoelaces before wondering how/why they got wet----and wet from what? (yuck!)

-are always at the grocery store buying something (usually milk)

-have been to known to carry extra underwear in your purse (for the little people in your life)

-buy things for your kids before you buy something for yourself

-are always doing laundry (double yuck)

-are always running the dishwasher (or maybe it’s just my house)

-know some children’s books by heart

-seem to spend every afternoon in the car (is it only me?)

-worry when you are not with your kids 24/7

-carry scissors in your purse to shorten straws at restaurants (just don’t get stopped by airline security-BTDT)

-write notes to the school in crayon (yep, I admit it)

-go from being mad at the world to giggling in a matter of minutes

-eat lots of mac and cheese

-Ramen noodles are a staple in your house

-think cheap is good (maybe not the best though)

-worry when your kids are out driving (sometimes panic sets in too)

-only watch kid shows on TV—unless it’s bedtime for little kids whereupon you go to sleep

-find the best bubbles to buy for bathtime

-are on the speed dial for the doctor’s office (or dentist, daycare, whatever floats your boat!)

-get someone else’s cold (can't they share something else?)

-have unrecognizable stuff on your shirt and have no idea where it came from

-spend your afternoon finding lost crayons, friends, slippers, coloring books, clothes, pjs, and everything else you can possibly think about.

After all, Moms have the ultimate power (in the eyes of a child). Moms know it all. Moms are the best of the best.

Here is the interactive part! Pass along your own “you know you are a mom when” lines!

Here's one: You find yourself listening/singing along to your children's CD's in the car and their not even in the car at that time.

Great post!

Wonderful post! There are so many of them I can also relate to.

One of my favorites:

-- Making the kids play "the quiet game" in the car just so you can hear yourself think.

Too true... And I thought that I was the only one who carried scissors to cut straws.

Here are a couple more:

You know you are a mama to nursing newborn when you have to look down to make sure you are wearing a shirt after you've left the house.

You know you are a mama to boys when you carry a stain stick and bandaids at all times.

That's great Krisin! Boy can I relate! I thought we were the only one that cut our kids straws. :)

Have a great weekend!

When someone says there is something on your shirt and you don't look down and just say "it's spit up" and just keep walking!

I ate Abbey's leftover granola bar...and, yes my dishwasher runs at LEAST once a day.
Hmmm...here's one: you know you're a mom when a trip to the grocery store ALONE is a luxury.
